ABOUT THE WORK
On 7 April 2020, Singapore entered the circuit breaker period. Everyone worked from home. A random thought came to me: What is happening to the street that I cross every day on my way to work? This animated illustration is a representation of my imagination of Albert Street – where the traffic light still functions without traffic, and everything else stands still without human beings.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Ang Qing Sheng is an Animation lecturer at LASALLE College of the Arts. He holds a Masters of Arts in Arts Pedagogy and Practice from Goldsmiths University (London). His research papers have been published in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. As an independent filmmaker, his animated short films have won awards and been screened at international festivals.
